Za'atar Spice Blend — Blend No.6
Za'atar has graced Middle Eastern tables since biblical times — a fragrant, tangy mix of thyme, sumac and toasted sesame that's as happy as a dip as it is a rub. Mix it with good olive oil and dunk warm flatbread, or scatter it over just about anything for an instant taste of the Levant. A bright, fragrant meal on the table in 30 to 40 minutes.
What it tastes like
Herby, nutty and tangy — earthy thyme, oregano and marjoram with toasted sesame and a bright, lemony hit of sumac. Zesty and aromatic rather than hot — fresh and moreish.
Cook this tonight
- Mix with olive oil into a paste, spread on flatbread or pitta and bake, or use as a dip for warm bread (man'oushe-style).
- Sprinkle over hummus, labneh, roasted vegetables, eggs or salads as a finishing seasoning.
- Rub onto chicken, lamb or fish before grilling or BBQing for a fragrant, herby crust.
How to use it
A little goes a long way — one to two teaspoons is plenty for a family meal for four or five. Stir into olive oil to make an instant dip or dressing, or use it dry as a rub and finishing sprinkle. It's brilliant scattered over almost anything just before serving — eggs, avocado toast, roast veg — so keep it close to hand and experiment.

Flavours all good and balanced not sure how it would compare to others
Very good quality spice. It would have been five stars if there was less of the sweet taste (can’t tell which spice has contributed to the sweetness).
Excellent taste
Great Harissa mix with Cumin, Coriander, Mint etc and just the right amount of heat. More economical than buying the paste as you don't need to use it all within a few days of opening.
Not bad
Decent burger spice mix
Very nice mixture for middle eastern dishes.
Lovely Ras El Hanout spice blend in a resealable package. I use mine to make Moroccan Chickpea Curry. Second spice blend purchased from this brand and happy with the blends.
Just what I needed to add flavour to my cooking. I've used it for chilli con carne plus as extra flavour in pasta and chicken dishes.
This spice mix is great and I order it every time to make my face Ethiopian recipes.
Loved this product and after trying locally to get some ordered this and very pleased
Made Lamb Koftas I managed to get Koftas from 250g of Minced Lamb, I used 2 Teaspoons of the mix. Maybe need to use a tiny bit more next time, It had a great taste but just for me I will probably chop a tiny amount of chilli and add it to the Mince next time as I like a little more heat. I would buy this again in the future. If you total up the cost of all the fresh ingredients its far more economical to buy this mix.
Really nice chilli mix but not any better than El Paso or Schwartz etc. A lot more expensive though!
Really good, tasty and great value for money
Liked the fact that it arrived quickly , and that it's in a resealable bag. Tasted OKOn the negative side, only enough for very few recipes.
Now recipe is like this:Celery salt, CORRIANDER, GINGER, PAPRIKA, TUMMERIC, CINNAMON, BLACK PEPPER, ONION, CAYENNE, NUTMEG, CLOVE, CARDAMOM, CHILLI FLAKES, ROSE PETALS.I know manufacturer has to state ingridients in % order high to low. Mots I can smell is corriander.
This is the first product from this website. I was not disappointed at all. Love the black pouch which is sturdy and perfect for keeping out the light so the contents last much longer if need be. Very pleased overall.
I have added this tasty spice to my chicken tray bakes turning them into a game changing supper dish.
Nice spice for making chicken breast burgers. Not too hot but you could add extra heat. It was great for me.
Needed some berbere spice for a curry recipe but couldn’t find it in my local supermarket so I turned to Amazon. I wasn’t disappointed, the curry turned out delicious!
Lovely mix of spices and no additives
Excellent product came on time and tastes great!!
I like theses spices they are full of flavour and I have used them all don't need any other spices with them
Excellent value for money topped off with a speedy delivery. Brilliant
Great authentic taste. Made my chilli taste from good to great. Will use again.
Love the flavour in mince for burgers and meatballs
Have already bought 3 pouches.. will continue buying as we are great lovers of Massaman Curries.
This is a fabulous quality Thai Spice Blend, very high quality and perfect on meats and fish. The depth of the flavours is superb, you can tell that high quality spices have been used! Highly recommended!
Lovely flavour, easy to use, good price. I will be purchasing again.
Put on chicken thighs mixed with olive oil Lovely
Just tried the tandoori chicken Ace. Mixed 5 good teaspoons with half large pot of plain yogurt. Skinned and slashed the chicken.Left it 24hrs . Oven 200c and bake it up well. Good flavour med hot. No colouring.
Perfect addition a combination of tasty and subtle.
This product met my expectations.
I didn’t really like this. It certainly isn’t hot enough, I needed to add about 3 tsp of chilli powder to get up to a decent heat, and I don’t do really hot food. It also didn’t taste like any other chilli I’ve eaten, had almost like a fruity taste. Also oddly on their web site you click on their chilli con carne recipe and the link takes you to a vegetable chilli recipe. For a good chilli sauce try DL Jardines Texas chilli sauce.
Another fab addition to the spice rack . Great taste
