What it tastes like
Savoury and aromatic — coarse sea salt and tingly Szechuan pepper with garlic, ginger, star anise and warm spice. Peppery and moreish rather than chilli-hot, so it's the milder, family-friendly cousin of our Salt & Chilli.
Cook this tonight
- Toss through crispy chicken, beef or pork with peppers and onions for a salt & pepper stir-fry — serve with noodles or rice.
- Sprinkle over chips, wedges or roast potatoes for moreish salt & pepper chips.
- Season tofu, halloumi or prawns before frying for a quick, punchy supper.
How to use it
A little goes a very long way — just one teaspoon is plenty for a family meal for four or five. For that takeaway effect, toss it through your meat or veg in the last minute of a hot stir-fry, or scatter over chips straight from the fryer or oven. It's milder than our Salt & Chilli, so it's a great one for the whole family.
