Blend No.7 Tandoori - Commonly believed to originate in the Punjab it is universally known. Who can resist a tandoori chicken starter with a simple salad, lemon and minted yoghurt.
This is the dish that got Dave started on the spice journey, it is perfect for the BBQ as it is as near to a tandoori oven as you can get. Serve straight off the BBQ in a warm naan with salad and minted yoghurt.
Alternatively you can try our tandoori curry, not a traditional curry buy any means, you can always substitute the chicken for a soya based alternative. It is really easy to make when you follow our recipe card and it tastes amazing. Serve on a bed of rice with some warm naan bread on the side.

Creamy Coconut Tandoori
The word tandoori refers to a variety of ovens that are used to cook. Commonly thought of is the cylindrical clay oven. This curry uses our tandoori mix to make a beautiful full flavoured dish.
This recipe serves 4
Heat Level: Mild
Ready in 30 minutes
600g chicken breasts - diced
1 small onion - diced
100g tomatoes - chopped
2 tsp Spicemasters Tandoori mix
100ml plain yoghurt
100ml coconut milk
2 tbsp oil or ghee
1. Prepare your ingredients.
2. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil or ghee in a pan.
3. Fry the onion for a few minutes or until it starts to brown.
4. Turn up the heat and add the chicken to the pan, continue to fry for 3 to 4 minutes until the chicken is sealed and has turned white.
5. Add the Spicemasters tandoori mix and continue to fry for 3 to 4 minutes.
6. Add the coconut milk and tomatoes and bring to the boil.
7. Once boiling, turn down the heat and simmer. Allow to cook like this for a further 5 to 6 minutes.
8. Add the yogurt to the pan, stirring well. Keep stirring until heated through.
9. Garnish with the chopped coriander and if you like heat, a few slices of chilli.
10. Serve and enjoy. This dish goes well with simple boiled rice and naan bread.
Spice Master Tips
Ghee - This will add an extra depth of flavour but oil is perfectly fine to use.
Spices - It’s imortant to “cook out” spices, frying them for a few minutes does this. Keep stirring them so they do not stick or burn as this will give your dish a bitter taste.
Tomatoes - We simmer them to allow the tomatoes to break down and the flavours to mature. It also reduces the water content making the sauce thicker.
Fresh - We add some ingredients towards the end. These are often delicate flavours and we want to add a fresh note to the dish.
