Blend No.5 Jerk - Our beautiful well balanced hand blended jerk seasoning is perfect to be used either as a rub or as a base for cooking wonderful curries. Our blend is not too hot as we feel it's better for everyone to be able to enjoy this wonderful seasoning, if you want more heat you can easily add more chilli while cooking.
All our blends use top grade spices and are carefully hand blended, we've been working with spices for over 20 years. You won't believe the flavour difference using a good quality blend makes, if you’re not happy for any reason we'll give you your money back.
Jerk and jerk sauces origins are from Jamaica and popular with Caribbean and West Indian communities. Jerk is a spicy flavour that works well with both white and red meats, fish and vegetables.

As a BBQ rub its just fantastic, cook chicken skewers on the BBQ in less than 20 minutes and serve with a simple salad, coleslaw and a bowl of fries.
Jerk was originally a sauce to go with the food cooked on an open fire, with our Jerk mix and recipe card you can make a rustic curry in less than 30 to 45 minutes.

We’ve put together a super easy full proof recipe for every one of our blends. There is also a shopping list of everything you will need and the recipe can be downloaded and printed out.
We have a passion for cooking healthy; all our blends are made just from spices and herbs, not loaded with sugar and other additives that don’t need to be there. All our blends are also vegetarian and vegan friendly.

Jerk Chicken Curry
The Jerk mix was traditionally used to create a spicy sauce for meat slowly cooked over a wood fire.
This recipe serves 4
Heat Level: Medium
Ready in 30 minutes
600g chicken breasts - diced
1 small onion - diced
1 clove garlic - minced
1 chicken stock cube
2 tsp Spicemasters Jerk mix.
400g tin chopped tomatoes
100g butternut squash - diced
125g button mushrooms - sliced
400ml tin coconut milk
2 tbsp of oil or ghee
1. Prepare your ingredients.
2. Add 2 tablespoons of oil or ghee to a pan.
3. Fry the onion for a few minutes or until it starts to brown.
4. Add the Spicemasters Jerk mix and continue to fry for 3 to 4 minutes.
5. Add the garlic, stock cube and stir continually whilst cooking for 2 minutes.
6. Add the chicken and continue to cook for 4 to 5 minutes and the chicken is sealed and turns white.
7. Add the butternut squash and mushrooms, then add the coconut milk, chopped tomatoes and bring to the boil stirring ocasionally.
8. Reduce the heat and simmer. Leave to cook for 30 – 35 minutes, stirring occasionally.
9. Serve and enjoy. Tasty with boiled rice.
Spice Master Tips
Spices - It is important to “cook out” spices, frying them for a few minutes does this. Keep stiring them so they do not stick or burn as this will give your dish a bitter taste. Whilst you can cook this dish with just our Jerk spice mix, for a wonderful combination of flavours try adding 1tsp of our Tandoori mix - blend No.7
Tomatoes - We simmer them to allow the tomatoes to break down and the flavours to mature. It also reduces the water content making the sauce thicker.
